I love this picture. I tend to be a fan of the aesthetic feel of a battle-work bearded warrior. Your work in painting this comes across, and I can tell your paying a good deal of attention to shading, and anatomy. Awesome job. If anything I'd redommend not being so constrast-shy with your shading, you obviously have a good understanding of how to implement shade, but you still do it a little light-handed. Otherwise this is very very cool, great job, and thanks for sharing!

Ooh intense and creepy! I like it :) In your PM you mentioned being concerned with getting proportions and shadow right. It comes with time and practice so don't be too hard on yourself. Your shading is actually pretty impressive, you add a good amount of depth and interest to your image. Keep it up, and thanks for sharing!

Tanks a lot, I really appreciate it!

Off to a good start! If you're looking for ways to expand your style and skill set, try drawing your characters doing different things, using objects, being in environments. It really comes down to challenging yourself and enjoying it, and over time you'll naturally become very good. This like I said, is a great start, his linework and color are both clean and crisp. Keep it up, good luck, and thanks for sharing!

Very cool! Your use of lighting and color is very well executed! I have to admit the lips are throwing me off a little hehe, when I cover them up it definitely looks like a deadpool girl, with them I find i'm a little creeped out ;) but hey, maybe that's exactly deadpool-girl's style? One thing I'll recommend to stay AWAY from is using a photoshop lens flare. It can come across as cheap and stamped on, I recommend finding other ways to show light and make something impressive. Overall a very well made piece, keep it up, and thanks for sharing!

This is cute! It seems like you're making decent progress learning digital painting. be careful of the little things though, for example, I can see the smoke image you overlayed is clipped at the top, it would be good to fade that kind of thing out to look more natural. I can see a few techniques you've put into practice from my tutorial such as rim lighting, and using clipping masks, so good job! Keep it up, and thanks for sharing :)

I gotta admit I'm impressed. As a whole the image is a bit rough and lacking, but I'll be honest, I've tried a few solid attempts at making art on the iPad and this beats me easily, its not an easy task. The form is quite goof, of the female, and I assume on an ipad its fairly impossible for you to trace. Aside from obvious things lacking (shading, filling in all the white areas), for what it is this is good work! I'd be interested to see how you go on paper, or with a tablet creating digital art! Good work, keep it up and thanks for sharing :)

Thanks.

I seem to recall watching a youtube video speedpainting of this. Its very clean in its linework and the colors work well together! The shape of the shadows work well with the form of the face, and as a whole the picture is very eye catching! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!

g31r responds:

Thanks man. Yeah I uploaded a speeddrawing on my channel and tried to get CaptainSparklez to see it, but either he didnt see it or he didnt like it. Thank anyways! :D

I like the structure of the image, its also a cute idea and well framed. I'd like to see it with a little more refinement in the linework and shading, perhaps with some color, but as a drawing exercise you've done very well! Be careful when 'sketching' shadows with pen though, it cen end up looking quite scribbley unless some with a bit of precision. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing! :)

ZELDA! THE REFERENCE IS ZELDA! Do I win something? Yes?

I love this pic man, the way each section is individually blocked out in a cutout style is very cool. Its like simplistic poster art, but lends itself to a narrative based style. The colors are also extremely strong. I love the way that the coutout sections along the mountains going lighter then darker give the illusion of mountains being behind a layer of fog or clouds. Also, for some reason the moon looks like he's really itchy, like he has chicken pocks. for gods sack SCRATCH HIM!

Awesome work, thanks for sharing! <3

Awww Jazza, your so sweet <3

Very very very impressive! There is an astounding amount of detail here! I love the bright colors, and how you haven't neglected the background at all, in fact thats where most of the details are! I love the way the light shines down from the top of the image, and how the organic parts of the scene (like the moss) have a softer, more 'painted' feel. The tail of the mermaid feels a liiiitle bit unnatural, like it's popping out of her back or something, but thats the only thing I could say to improve on, and thats looking hard for something, because there's so much to be impressed by in this piece, incredible work. Keep it up, and thanks for sharing!

PintaMiMundo responds:

Jazza ** Thanks a lot for this comment! I didn't think you'll answer so fast :p
Yah, I know the prospective of the tail is a little exceeding, but I'm happy that you like the bg! I worked very hard on it! Thanks again! <3
