Stylistically this is very cute haha. The bearded man in the middle is my favorite part, and your use of colors is very well done. The background could do with a little work, but the overall feel of the image is really clever and unique. Keep up the good work!

Hehe, I chuckled inside immediately when I saw this. A cute idea! Your painting work is solid here, it could use a little more, I'd like to see his whole body in an assassins garb, or at least some more detail and contrast in the shading of the face under the hood, but overall you've done very well, keep it up!

This is cool! I like the cutout style and the way the colors work well together. I'd recommend being careful when using this style, to be conscious of things like the white of the teeth and eyes being hard to distinguish from the color of their skin. Add some saturation and make the skin slightly darker, and I think you'll find the image pops out and holds its form a little stronger. I look forward to seeing how your style is conveyed as you create your own characters and environments! Keep it up :)

Thanks fo much for reviewing! I'll defiantly take all of that into consideration the next time I make a drawing :D

This is very cool! The piece overall is quite simple (in terms of shading and detail) but the composition and feeling of action is what is impressive here. Your central characters pose is very strong, and how he's framed and complimented by the other 3 things in the image, the fire in the backgrounds, the magic he's casting, and the army he's facing. You've done a good job portraying 'numbers' of enemies, when we only see 4 people, we assume naturally there are a lot more. Funny, how a lot of the time creating an impressive scene like this is more about how to trick people into assuming something is extremely big, without having to show it! Great work, keep it up :)

Oh wow! Thanks, Jazza! :D Yeah, I've got too keep trying harder, I'm not used to shading and colouring >.<, but this post inspires me to keep at it! :D Thanks again! :D

Very cool piece of fanart! You captured their chaotic spirit, and conveyed them with a strong sense of motion, very well done. I love how the linework feels both appropriately/intentionally messy, and yet frames the characters individually and as a group extremely well. Colors are great, proportions, characterization, all very well done. Good work!

This is very impressive, your use of shade and light is strong and the image has a kind of haunting quality. All of your art is very diverse (I can't review them all but I thought i'd share my opinion on this one, since its my favorite of yours). You show an understanding of lots of different mediums, I'd say the ones you've done in this style are your strongest. Keep up the great work!

How enchanting! I love this - its extremely simple in its attributes: clean simple linework, minimal shading, no textures, and minimal background, but they come together in a way that feels 'complete' and beautiful, something not many artists can do so well on their first original drawing! Its clear you have talent, because with such a simple artwork, you've invoked an emotional response, I feel a sense of childlike wonder looking at this, because I can see it in that child's eyes and its very very convincing. Fantastic work, keep it up!

This is very well done, I really feel like having some thicker darker linework would be really benificial to this style, like fine-liner/biro work. Your understanding of proportion shows through very well in this, I think this also lends itself to color very easily! Great work, keep it up :)

McDerpy responds:

Thanks so much for your respons, I will keep on and improve my skills. :)

There's something strangely mesmerizing about this... Like I'm supposed to be scared for my life, but am drawn in by its (forgive the word) beauty. I don't know, maybe its the way there are defined areas in the middle, the focal points, but how overall the image has a soft tone and very delicate and well constructed lighting. Anyhow, the main thing I wanna see different in this is how it would look with color! Would it be red and purple, with thick dark areas and low saturation, to convey a murderous tone, or soft colors and cool tones to keep me entranced? haha. Fantastic work, keep it up!

Thanks for the showcase Jazza, and for reviewing my art!
The indepth comment really helps me see what I have accomplished with my design choices.
Color is indeed the next step.

Thanks again and I can't wait for new tutorials.

I have to disagree with the reviewer below personally, I think this is one of your strongest pieces and the large amount of time and attention to detail you've put into it have really come through! Your efforts in shading and painting have paid off a lot and I can only imagine how much you'll keep improving! I don't have much to be critical of with this piece, for what you attempted, you did a fantastic job. The colors and depth are great. I look forward to seeing how you go making original characters in more interesting poses, but overall, awesome work, keep it up!
