The background and characters work quite well with each other. Their linework and color are a compliment to each other. I'd recommend practicing your construction work to maintain proportion, their limbs could be a little thicker and the're all in the same pose. They could also do with having some shadow under their feet, otherwise this is creative and fun and fits your intent well! Keep it up :)

[The Governor]

I THOUGHT I recognized him, when I read the description I had an 'aaaaaah!' moment. I love the walking dead :) and you're right, eye patches do rock. I like your linework, normally I'd say something like recommend paying attention to keeping the lines crips and smooth, but I think the rough linework works in the favor of this piece. If anything I feel like it needs some shading, it's like there's this strong light above him but no shadow being cast. Anyhow, great character work, nice framing, good work, keep it up :)

Thanks a lot for the kind words, I'm happy you took the time out to comment! I'm working on Paint tool SAI and find it hard to keep lines crisp with it, especially with what I call my "Grit" Style.

As for the lighting, that was simply because I felt it lacked without some form of background.

If it's not too much trouble I may link you to a few more as I post them, I'll do my best not to clutter my inbox, you probably have a horde of messages anyway, and I respect you for taking on such a task!

Ooh very cool, reminds me of the hunger games :P Your use of linework and color on the girl are very well done. The background could use some refinement, try approaching it as if it were a character, outline sections of organic parts like rocky edges and plants, and work the shading with those shapes, just like you have done here with the character. There's a good amount of detail on the girl, it's somewhat lost because of the lack of refinement in the background, but overall I like this piece! *smash mug on floor* - ANOTHER!

Haha this is cute! A nice mix of colors, the both stand out well and have strong silhouettes. I'd recommend practicing working with construction lines to be able to draw characters in various angles, it'll help strengthen your understanding of how to convey a 3D object in a 2D artform. Keep up the good work!

[Guild Wars 2 Norn female]

I like your work here, the major downside to it is the framing of the image itself, It'd be great if you or a friend had a scanner you could use to make your pictures digitally accessible. In regards to the image itself, your proportions and pose are both very strong, its clear you have a good understanding of shape and basic anatomy. The armor might I add also looks very cool ;) I'd love to see this with a little more contrast and shading, perhaps even linework and color, but pace yourself, one step at a time! You're doing well, keep it up!

This is great considering you drew it without a tablet! I HIGHLY recommend you save up for one when you can, they're tricky to get used to at first, but its clear you have a strong imagination and understanding of shape and pose, so not using one might waste your potential! If there are a few things I'd point out to work on, I'd say making your line work more clean would be a top priority (tablets help with this a lot), and keeping your colors nice and solid and shaded to work with the shape and environment. Otherwise, good work, keep it up!

Nice! I like your character work, they all look fitting in style and are framed together naturally, like that's how they normally look when chilling out on a weekend ;) Your female work is particularly strong. This piece and your pieces in general focus a lot on the characters, I'd love to see them interacting in some way, and put into a tangible environment. Great work, keep it up!

I'm curious how much of this is copied or traced, truth be told in a piece like this that doesn't matter, what matters is how you pull it off through your technique, and I'm very impressed with you you did that. Your strength in contrast between you shade and light is fantastic, and your attention to detail is very well done. I love how you were able to avoid showing visible clumps of pencil strokes in larger areas of thick darker shading, that is a tricky thing to avoid! In short, you achieved exactly what you set out to in this piece and I look forward to seeing what else you do :) Keep it up!

[Cyberpunk City/The Chase]

At a glance this is an extremely impressive and detailed picture! When I zoom in the sneaky truths are revealed, haha. There are consistent uses of (seemingly) stock photos that have been altered to work with the scene, and consistent use of loose flowing lines and brush stroked to give the illusion or detail. As a concept image for something like a sci-fi series this is a 5/5 perfect! As a solo piece of work, at a glance its brilliant, but the things which you use to trick the eye pop out upon further inspection. I'd like to see how you go creating something a little more from scratch with finer detail, its clear you have a great understanding of color and depth, keep it up!

This is in fact a concept piece for a world I created. I was also, at this time, pretty new to Digital Painting, so i was excited to try all the techniques I saw being used by pros.

[My Terrible Pico]

Did you use a tablet to draw this? If so, nice work, this has some clean linework. If not, I'm even more impressed, and think it should be a priority for you to get a tablet! ;) Nice use of color and framing, I'd like to see what you come up with if you spent some time on a picture and messed around with some details, this is a great start though, keep it up :)

Wow thanks Jazza! Uh yeah I use a Wacom Bamboo Fun the original one from like 2008, I hope to be going to university for animation as I've always been passionate about it and the subject of art itself, if and when I get my new computer I also intend to splash out on a Cintiq or Intuos. I'm so glad someone such as yourself takes the time to respond to fans a lot even though you have projects to work on and rather "famous" on YouTube/Newgrounds etc. Don't Change! :)
