GREAT work for a first digital artwork. For a beginner you're doing really well, keep doing what you're doing and keep yourself motivated and you'll see improvement comes quite quickly! It's clear to me that you really challenged yourself with this piece, you're trying various advanced techniques which are really hard to get right, and while some areas aren't perfect, the ambition and care taken bring it to a level of which you should be proud. The subject is the only thing I have a problem with, painting an eye, with no context or reason simply because it looks interesting, happens a lot and doesn't give me much new to experience as a viewer. I look forward to seeing what you do with new subject matter! Keep up the effort, and thanks for sharing your work with me!

Your shape and pose are both great, expression is good, nice work - The coloring of this piece lacks clarity, the overall feel is murky, which could be alleviated with more intense lighting and contrast, perhaps some rim lighting, but more importantly, more consistent and solid coloring. That aside, This piece is decent, it effectively conveys what you are trying to go for, so good work. Keep up the effort, and thanks for sharing your work with me! :)

Nice work, the perspective is only slightly off, and overall composition is interesting to look at and tells a good story. It's clear to me that you really challenged yourself with this piece, you're trying various advanced techniques which are really hard to get right, and while some areas aren't perfect, the ambition and care taken bring it to a level of which you should be proud. The background you've got here is simple, but appropriate, and much better than excluding a background all together like many other pieces I see seem to do. This piece is decent, it effectively conveys what you are trying to go for, so good work. Keep up the effort, and thanks for sharing your work with me! :)

Nice work, lacking in some detail but the overall feel is well executed and smooth. Wow, thanks a lot Jazza, hopefully when I decide to do a future piece of work I will improve on it, and thanks for the review! :)

Nice job! Your color balance and image composition are good, though the lines are a little thick, to the point of diminishing some of the images detail. Your image could be improved with more work on the environment, there isn't much happening here to compliment the piece. You might not need to add too much, but something simple to help balance the colors and lighting would significantly compliment your piece. This piece is decent, it effectively conveys what you are trying to go for, so good work. Keep up the effort, and thanks for sharing your work with me! :)

Yeah, I get what you mean. Thanks for the advice!

Nice work! Is this a traditional artwork? The linework in this piece is clean and clear, great weight variation where appropriate and stylistically well communicated. Be wary of misrepresenting your image - no matter how much work you put into it, if it's not properly optimized, a traditional image that isn't properly transferred into the digital format will look worse than it could, which is a shame to the work put into the image. I've created a video tutorial on addressing this issue, feel free to check it out on youtube (/watch?v=gJrgnxKehso). Don't get me wrong, this piece looks great, but it has a slight fuzziness which makes me feel like it's being let down only slightly. Otherwise it's extremely good, so keep it up!

Your piece holds its own fairly well in terms of its composition - the balance of where the viewerâEUTMs eye is drawn and how the piece is laid out is neat and compliments the image and style. The way you mixed the linework (black lines) and the linework cross-hatched style colors is interesting and works pretty well overall. Keep up the effort, and thanks for sharing your work with me!

Aw - just saw your last showcase where you mention the no-text bug.. unfortunate. But thanks anyway for your time and the vote :)

Fantastic! I love seeing traditionally painted images from time to time, this one is really nice, and I'm glad to see a tutorial speedpainting video to accompany it! Nice aesthetic! This piece is decent, it effectively conveys what you are trying to go for, so good work. The painting style you have going on here lacks solidity, the edges are somewhat unrefined, but inside and on the outer edges of the shapes/characters. Don't be afraid to have some hard edges and contrast where they're needed. The background you've got here is simple, but appropriate, and much better than excluding a background all together like many other pieces I see seem to do.
