I'm so sorry it took me so long to get to reviewing this, it was sent to me in a youtube message and I rarely check them :(

This pic is great! Very clean linework, great use of color, the image overall has a good deal of polish to it so good job. Stylistically the character is nice and unique, but the image is a bit empty, there's nothing really happening, so I'd take this is as more of a concept piece or character demo. Otherwise great work, keep it up :)

RexHyena responds:

Its cool. If I would have known that I would have sent it from here. Thanks a lot. Yeah it is a concept piece, but even if it weren't it probably wouldn't have had a background since I'm bad at those. I'll start to practice them though. Thanks again !

Very nice! The skull is slightly less than anatomically accurate, but stylistically, fits the image and aesthetic perfectly. The lighting and the way you did the shading work very well. Its difficult to tell what medium you used (whether pencil or watercolor pencil), but then I noticed your video link and watched it. I'm very impressed with the work you put into this and the detail you slaved over, and how the theme carries it across wonderfully. You should be very proud of this! Keep up the awesome work.

Thanks a lot for the review, the feature and all the kind words!

Compared to your other pieces this shows some nice ambition, a tricky pose, extreme expression, and good use of shading and color. The forms could be more solid and the proportions are ever so slightly off (not by much thouhg), but overall you should be proud, keep it up!

Alchem responds:

Oi thank you, yeah iv done some other pieces after this one and when i look back i notice the little stuffs that you said, but i think i made some improvements with my new pieces so i will keep at it and draw until my hands fall of :)

Good job, I can see how you did the 'tears and snot', hehe, the shading is unique, similar to gonzosm's style. The faces could be a little more solid, they feel a bit flat overall and the background is lacking. For a drawing exercise this is great, keep it up!

Jogeren responds:

Thank you so much!

Fantastic!

This is a testament as to what can be achieved by applying yourself, taking time and care, and working hard. You've done very well here, and for someone new to digital painting you should be very VERY happy with yourself. No negative words from me, just keep it up!

rubixkyoob responds:

Thanks!

Nice work, your photoshop skills are developing, i look forward to seeing what else you can do, good on you for working in an environment and interesting lighting effects. The form could be more solid, and the proportions are a little off, but overall you've done a good job, keep it up!

I used the tips of your youtube channel. Grateful by the considerations. See you

I've been sent a lot of art work while doing these showcases, never have I been sent an ode to icecream - to props there for originality haha. Nice colors, could stand for better shape and solidity, as a practice piece this is effective though, keep it up :)

SkovMH responds:

Hah, Thanks ^^
I will keep it up, and pull it even further up!

Great work! A significant improvement over the first image of yours I featured, both stylistically and in your technique, so congrats on that. I would mention that the shading, while good and accurate, feels a little 'shy'. I normally do 2 layers of shading, on is a general overall shading layer to get the feel of the lighting and shape, which you have done here, and very effectively. Next though, I do another layer, with a higher contrasting darker shade and stay closer to the edges and fill in more closed off areas. It helps define the shape more and add more definition and clarity. Don't be over the top, but try and round things out more, have more contrast and bring it out, make it 'pop'. Great job! Keep improving, you're doing well.

Pounz responds:

I'm on it
Thanks Jazza for your advise, always helpfull :)

Great improvement, the characters form is very solid, lines are smooth, and the pose and expression are ambitious and you pulled them off delightfully. I'd like to see more of an environment, even though that isn't the nature of this image. You've done very well, keep it up!

Golden-Chicken responds:

Thanks man, i will try to make some more backgrounds in my art.
Although i suck at it very bad , i'll still give it a shot in my next artwork i upload ;)

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment on my art once again!
It means alot :D
You have been one of my inspirations to be an animators since the first time i ever visited this web site.
And its kinda awesome to have one of your idols review some of your stuff.
So thank you man! :D

This is one of those pictures that you could just look at all day, there's so much meticulous detail, it's a real treat. Every line has been carefully implemented and the large scale proportions work well, as does the macro detail. I will note that the image quality could be optimized a little better, with a neater contrast and clarity, but other than that you've done extremely well. Keep it up!

GabrieleB responds:
