I worship Raptor Jesus, he who is the perfect blend of Holy Savior and Deadly Velociraptor.

But i respect everyones beliefs.

I'm hurt.. I was there between you and AlmightyHans. :' <

Y'all were going in, I tend to fall back from religious converations since some ppl are really (violent) serious about the matter. Lol glad noone's feelings were hurt that day.

Hehe you know I love you man. In the end I was passionate as a Christian, but since my opinions have changed I can't be a fence sitter, I've had to find my passion as an atheist or feel lackluster. Either way I hope we get to hang next year!

I´m happy for you that you managed to leave your sect. However, religion is not illogical. There is a thing called theology, which is basically the science of religion. For thousands of years people have longed for god and gnosis, today it seems like most "western" people are avoiding these questions, claiming to be agnostics or even atheists. I bet if you would have a conversation with someone who extensively studied theology, you would find most of your questions answered or at least put in a scientific context. Hell, I´m a catholic and I neither believe that anyone is going to hell (According to catechism, hell is empty) or that the knowledge about jesus' ressurection is the only way to happiness.

Theology is illogical by it's simplest definition, the belief in a powerful unknowable unprovable unexperiencable substance or being. LAWYERED.

I felt like writing something regarding surprise because I remember reading about you leaving for missionary work, and I have to say that every time I saw your name that actually came back to mind. I guess I just thought it was interesting that someone on Newgrounds would be a missionary at some point.

But then I realized that you most likely wouldn't read this and didn't feel like posting it anymore.

So now I'm confused and I don't know why I'm writing this. Oh well, love your work anyway.

Poor poor jesus

"because in this day and age, people are less retarded. except 95% of Americans of course."
what harsh statement

It's a joke. But with fox news as the most trusted news source in your nation who could be surprised if the statistic WAS close to that?

Honestly, i'll respect anyone's opinion as long as it does not hurt anyone physically, mentally or corrupt the will of someones free choice.

I mean ill believe that there *could* be a god, and that jesus most likely did exist, but i won't devote my whole life to it for purposes of wanting to live life to the fullest. I do believe in some of the moral goodness of straying from temptations of humans but then again it differs from everyone's point of view.

what i'm trying to say is ill stay in the middle, no "It's either this side or that side" deal.

but Jazz speaking to you that day was wonderful, you're as in depth intelligent as harry is in almost any subject i discuss with and was a grand pleasure to have met you; im glad some people can talk about stuff with positive understanding of others points of views, that's a quality trait i admire in people.

Thank ye kindly sir

I believe that god(if that is his real name) just messed with peoples' minds by saying this is real and that;then he sat up in his chair and watched us kill each other.
Also,I don't think there is a hell,or a devil.

It's the matrix

If you think of religion like "God created the world in a few days and Jesus came back to life? That doesn't work according to science!" and think Christianity is just about believing exactly what the Bible says, you're doing it wrong. Religion is not an item you pick from a store and then have to use as someone says. I think it's unique for everyone and is not characterized by the "big religions".

I'm very aware of that, as a missionary I was exposed to every form of Christianity I needed to be, to gain an informed opinion

I've always hated the Old Testament.... feels so outdated and a lot of things in it outrage me. Yet it's what most people believe in, and I respect that.

I bet most people turn to atheist after the end of the world didn't happen. Also, Fuck.

Lol feels good doesn't it

I didn't think it would at first (months ago) since I thought I'd feel as if life were less special. But it does feel good, liberating, and life feels almost MORE special

we're all born athiest religious beliefs are ideas taught to us from our social enviroment

Bingo

I'm on the same page as you, you my friend. Being a programmer and logical thinker it's hard for me to believe something if it just does not make any sense or if there is no proof. Although some in my family believe in God and such, I do not. Morals are good enough for me. I don't need some "all mighty being" to tell me how I should live my life so that I end up in the "right place."

Interesting that you put it that way. Maybe the reason I stayed for so long is because I have an artistic mind, by which I am extremely attracted to the aesthetics of religion my mind creates for me. I've had to find the same kind of mental beauty in my atheism to justify it.

gotta say, i never felt like i was punching jesus whenever i said fuck

LOL: Religion, God, The Good, The Evil, Fuck.

OMG!!!!

I believe that I can empathize with your situation, Jazza. I was raised in a devout Mormon family of ten children and left the LDS church after discovering the changing doctrines and deceit that was propagated by Mormon leadership. I decided that I wanted truth no matter where it led.

My search has led me to the personal conclusion that there is a God. I realize that most self-proclaiming Christians are hypocrites and that religion has been used as a tool of hatred in many cases throughout human history. I understand that there are difficult questions that require answering. Why would God allow suffering? Where did God come from? How can a just God condone what occurred in the Old Testament? What about seeming contradictions in the bible? Can one be a critically thinking individual while still believing in miracles and a creator?

While these are difficult questions, there are answers. I believe that God created us to use logic and ask questions. The fact that you are thinking critically is awesome, and I am thrilled that you are doing so.

I exhort you though, don't allow your mind to be closed. Just because the Mormon church lied does not mean that God is fictional. Continue asking the tough questions and use that mind that you were given. John MacArthur, Lee Strobel, Michael Behe, and Dean Kenyon were athiests who sought the truth, and they came to the conclusion that God logically exists.

I am not the most intelligent man alive, and I have been wrong plenty of times in my life. It is entirely possible that I am wrong, and perhaps you are correct in there being no God. However, my pursuit of knowledge and truth has led me to this place, and I can believe in creation without throwing my brain out the window.

Regardless of where you find yourself in your beliefs, I wish you all the best in life. Your music is touching, and The Composer inspires me. You seem to be an individual who genuinely wants the truth, and for that you hold my respect. Continue creating beautiful art, and always think for yourself.

Have a great day. :)

To be honest it wasn't Mormonism that turned me, it was religion itself. I hold no greater resentment to the Mormons than I do to any other system of belief that is illogical and pre-packaged. Also, thanks for the kind words

Sometimes I really don't get some christians. I mean, it's cool to believe in god, but sometimes they can get so caught up in how they have the only reasonable religeon on earth, at least where I live (Christian churches run EVERY event here, I feel terrible whenever I leave my house. All the concerts I play are usually at a church, and even though they're not Christian concerts, I still feel bad.

I mean, I think it's completely possible for there to be a god, but why does it has to be only the Christian god? I think maybe there's a god, because I don't really think this world was created by accident, but in my opinion, it is just ridiculous to believe that the other 5 billion people in the world are going to hell.

I don't hate christianity, I just don't like how some christians don't bother to think twice that maybe, just MAYBE they could be worshipping god for the wrong reasons. In my opinion, it's not about worshipping someone, it's about doing good for people in general. A lot of christians actually understand that, and a lot don't.

So yea I'm not atheist, I'm creationist/agnostic, and it feels good not to be "Obligated" to kiss god's ass in fear of going to hell.

ugh, there are too many comment here. i have really no comment on your decision, you can choose whatever you wish. What I am curious about is what changed your mind? It seems like your faith was fairly strong for you to have gone on a year long mission, even for a believer like me, that is something I am not very willing to do. So I wonder what could have turned you against your former views so sharply. I do not ask in order to judge you (afterall it is written do not judge lest you be judged by your own measure) but out of sheer curiosity. I have known only one other person who rejected their faith. Our conversations on the matter were enlightening and informative.

What changed my mind was logic. My brain wanted to think logically about things regarding faith but my heart wouldn't allow it because of my upbringing. When I decided to free my thinking after realizing my situation was an accident of birth, the change to atheism was almost instantaneous
