Nice work, for someone so young and new to this you've done a very good job. A few things to keep in mind, first off, try and crop your high resolution image so it isn't so overbearingly large when people zoom in. Also, watch your coloring in, I assume you're going for a certain style in having it go over the lines like that, but it sends to just look a bit messy. Overall good work, and thanks for sharing. Keep it up!

Pachydermus responds:

Thanks a lot! I'll keep that in mind.

Nice! I can see you're challenging yourself here, you've created a pretty epic piece. His proportions feel a little top-heavy, and the colors get lost on each other a bit, but overall its cool, nice work! Keep it up, and thanks for sharing

Saminat responds:

Fantastic, thank you so much for the review!

This is great! Fantastic use of color and shading, made even more impressive by the fact you did it in such a short time, and with a mouse! Great job :) The clouds could use some work, they look both a tad too 'soft' while trying to add a solid, almost too solid, black lined face, and strange contrast. Overall, a well done piece, keep it up, thanks for sharing!

Golden-Chicken responds:

Thanks for the kind words mate! :D
I agree with you 100%. I basically made the clouds as fast as i could. (Was getting nuts from working with that damn mouse! DX) And personally, i didn't focus on the backgrounds very much, except that damn question mark!!
Jesus, I almost killed myself trying to make that look right! :'(
I hate it when you can't get the perspective right.... :(

But thank you for taking the time to look at it, and give it some great feedback. :)
And also thank you for showing my art on your video :D

Hey there! It's coming along, I'd be happy to scout you but I think you could use some more experience first. Keep practicing and working hard, you'll get there. This piece is interesting and entertaining, it could use refinement in its solidity and structure, as well as more crisp linework and perhaps some shading or color of some kind. Thanks for sharing, keep it up!

Kairos responds:

Thank you for reviewing and for the pointers!

I gotta be honest, I have no idea what to make of this, haha. Its painted quite well and has good use of gradients and shading, I just don't know what it is! That said, you've gone a good job regardless, and it definitely interesting to look at heh. Thanks for sharing!

Revolutsia responds:

I have no idea what it is either, I just went with a general shape, winged it, and this is what I got.
Thanks for the review!

Holy shi- nice! I LOVE the legs. They really stand out, how youve layered the shadow, and shine. It feels like a tanjible material. Other parts of the image could use work, mainly the texture and shading of the pink fleshy material, but the image overall has a very strong silhouette, and impressive aesthetic. Great work!

DuDuL responds:

Thanks man! Yeah now that i see that picture after a week i can see the legs standing out a lil too much compared to the rest. Cheers

Great work, the lion and main character in particular look very well done, though I would remark that the linework of the background is very thick and makes it hard to see immediately where the action begins and ends. Overall a good piece, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the feedback!

Nice work! A fun image concept and well pulled off. I especially like your strong color and glow, it flows together well. Your line work could be stronger and more solid, mainly because everything is currently the same thickness, and the shape itself is a little flat, but these things come with practice! Thanks for sharing, keep it up!

Kool a review from Jazza himself! Thanks for the review man, hope I make a showcase!!!

Welcome to Newgrounds! Its always great to see new people join up here with enthusiasm and a hard working attitude. Remember to take on good advice, ignore idiots, and always work to improve yourself. Your composition here is well done! Its simple but fun, well framed and cute. There are plenty of things that could be improved on, but being new to all of this, just take it slow, have fun and keep working! Thanks for sharing and good luck :)

urbfilms responds:

Thanks Jazza! Thank you for taking your time at looking at this, and I hope to improve! Since I don't have Photoshop (and Flash isn't really the best for making illustrations like your's) I actually used an iPad to make this, and I like how this turned out! Thanks so much for the review!

EDIT: Thank you for putting me in the showcase!

YAY! I love seeing traditional artwork. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing digital work, but its always refreshing to see people still like using stuff on paper! I can't even remember the last time I sat down to do something on paper... kind of a shame really. Anyhow, this is great! I have a love of the shapes of skulls, I don't know why, such a cool looking object. You pulled this off great, nice use of shade, believable form, and lovely colors around the edges. Not much negative can be said about this, great work! Keep it up and thanks for sharing!
