Fuck yea. 3D backrounds too?

yes, all props, buldings, even the interface is rendered from maya. the only in game things that arent are attack icons, and the ground tiles, but they look pretty 3D anyways :P like grounds textures on AOE or warcraft.

i'll be sure to post an image once the game is really how we want it

Thx for the tutorials, i suck at flash majorly......

no probs, so glad you liked

Cool. But is the game like we can attack each other, and it pop out blood 'n gore. wounds? music? Story?

hmm, doing gore will be hard.. but i'm gonna try... the games mainly for the fun of beating/fighting other people live, rather then it being very story and violence based. almost like WoW, just not the same style.
and yes there will be music

:ยด(

well said

those tutorials helped me out a ton!

glad to hear it

Hi again.
can u give the .exe file of Paladin:the Game.
Please.
I love that game.
Please.

lol sorry cant really do that
but thanx!

I wish you could make a sci-fi movie...

i probably could, i just dont have time atm. i actually have a nice Sci-fi story planned, pehaps for when i'm a bigshot director! :P

how do you put together a construct for a character walking towards you? walking sideways is easy... but walking towards you seems tougher.

draw the circle and jaw line, and have the directional line right in the middle. then draw the eye line and draw the features of the face symetrical on the face

I got so fucking glad.

glad theres no story? lol... i think the strong point of this game is the stretegy and interactivity anyhow

You don't even know what I was crying about.

hm?
now im confused

Thanks JAZZA keep up with the good work. Are you doing any projects now or are you taking a break from animating and making tuts? Anyway good job.

im making the game, and starting an animation and recording my album

Thanks so much! I've always admired your work. I've been drawing in flash for about 4 years now. I've searched for good tutorials on drawing technique in flash. There are very few out there and the ones I've found are poorly done. I've watched all your vids from start to finish and I'm very pleased. I actually learned a lot from character building to animation...specifically your quick walk cycle. I have never done it that way, I've always used fbf which takes me a while. After watching all your videos I opened flash and began applying your techniques. My drawings improved instantly. I used your "construct" method and my characters look so much better (faces).

If I may, I'd like to request a tutorial with more explanation on the construct. Maybe the theory and reasoning behind it. How and why to draw the lines, specifically on the head. I think the "cross" represents the face and provides a building platform for the facial features. What general rules are there for drawing the initial circle and "U" shape that form the head? I now know this is a very important step in creating proper proportions.

Sorry this is so long, I just really appreciate the tutorials. I read your other blog and see you will be leaving for mission service. Your contributions will be missed and I wish you the best.

THANX HEAPS MAN IM REALLY GLAD THEY HELPED YOU SO MUCH
wow, caps lock was on, cant be bothered retyping that. anyhow, i though i explained the construct thing in the first one, like why i use the lines, if not, its basically to make sure proportions stay consistent.

best references and where i learned a lot about construct, is in books by christopher hard. one very construct based is 'drawing on the funny side of the brain'. his other best ones are 'how to draw cutting edge comics' 'manhua mania' and 'anatomy made amazingly easy'

GET THEM (caps intended this time)
trust me, they helped amazingly... his anime ones arent so good though, they tend to repeat themselves and they arent as well drawn. no-ones ad good at drawin anime then the japanese lol

good luck!
any more questions, PM me

gee, i wonder how will the game actually look like? The cover is pretty interesting..

i'll post an in game sample in a couple of weeks prolly...

The better the game, the worse the odds that my dialup is gonna shit out before it finishes loading...

i used to be on dialup. i know how you feel.

took me like, 3 hours to upload paladin 4 it was that bad

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on uploading stuff until we renovate the house and get HiSpeed. 'Til then, all I gots to offer is ONE BUTTON BASED PIECE-O-CRAP GAME!

lol it's aaawl good

I'm sad 'cause you're going in missionary thingamajiggys

no you're not
i'm excited to do something selfless for once.

Hey, thanks for the tutorials! They were fun to watch and really helpful! I think I need to use constructs more...

yeah construct is REALLY useful.
it's been the core of drawing in animation since... animation

Woah. Just gotta say its pleasing that to see that you read everyones comment. (even reply to them!)

First of all, I wanted to ask: To use use Sibelius or something for your music? Id be interested to know what program you use. Or do you just record yourself?

For tutorials I think you've covered a lot there already. Perhaps a photoshop tutorial?

aah no big deal really... i know i like responses, doesn't take much to write a few words back now and then.

i record the music myself through a mixer and midi chanells, using both VST instruments and audio recordings (mainly for vocals and drums). i use Cubase sx 3 to record.

perhaps, i need to find some more time to make tuts, i'm busy all over again : |

I think he used a music program called cubase.

two points

Oh... ( blushes )
