Mhm... I have no money to donate sadly. But I still got a lot of things to donate: Imagination, love, hugs, encouraging words, a thousand-word text about how much I like Josiah Brooks's work, Imagination again, and... Oh, right. Happiness.

all support is real support! sharing the link helps too! ;)
Holy shit, JAZZA, I would abosolutly (and proudly) donate 300$, but, I have no credit card because I am too young to own one, and my parents would be like "Bish you crazy" I'm sorry, But if I do get the chance to donate at least a dollar, I would gladly.
Oh... Just wondering... if I do get to design my own species, do I have to draw it... I mean, I'll try, but I'm not that great at drawing...It may take my a while.
no if you do that, i'd interpret a description or sketch into my style to fit the game and world. :)
well hope ill be able to play this game, it looks really nice
Oh okay thanks.
I'm already an NPC in my own life. *sadface*
I'm a little worried that inviting so many potentially clueless contributors to mess with your game is going to turn what is already a logistical nightmare into something much worse. Hard to imagine it working out in the end.
Anyway, I think you need to be a little more clear about what designing a monster for the game entails. We didn't see any battle footage in the video, so we don't know how the monsters are going to be viewed. Is it just going to be the 3D modeled 3/4 view of the characters walking around in the world or is there going to be a separate battle screen in which you view your character as he/she appears in the customization screen along with the monster drawn in a corresponding style?
Also, does it have to be a "creature" or can it be a type of recurring human enemy?
it could be a type of recurring human enemy
we'll be helping guide contributes through the process, more so for those with bigger rewards, IE we'll back and forth with them to make their implementation and idea fit with our world and setting to enrich both of our experiences :)
One thing I noticed about that minigame you released that was supposed to be part of Ortus is that it REALLY lagged my computer, so maybe make this a .exe and make some money on steam, maybe? Because I can't handle that much good graphics on flash.
a few reasons for that, 1: it was made in 3 weeks with barely any testing/optimization time unfortunately, and 2: flash player 11 now allows us to code Ortus to use the GPU to render the game! so it's likely gonna have next to no lag at all :)
Ive been pretty kickstarter'd out as of late. funds are tight so it might be a while before I can toss over some bones.
What I do like about your kickstarter over any of the ones Ive put money in to , is that you made it a huge group effort full of great newgrounds artists and talent.
You prove that NG doesnt have to be a one man show all the time, and if you gather enough people, you can make something even bigger.
Thats something we need to see more of around here for sure. And as soon as I can donate, I will,
you're a legend mate. And yeah you're absolutely right, everyone i consistently work with is on the team and have been 'gathered' so to speak over years of collaboration on this site. We all freely credit NG as the origin of how we got to do what we do for a living <3
Can I donate my soul?
yes, we take souls.
I'm sorry if I'm just an idiot or something and there's something I'm just not seeing here, but you didn't answer my question about the battle system. What does it look like? How are enemies viewed?
ok here's an example:
my coder Moonkey requested i implement a creature called a greebler, and described it to me. I then drew and animated it on 8 angles to wor in the in-game view. Here is a picture of the finished greebler zoomed in http://imageshack.us/photo/my-ima ges/824/hulkinggreebler.jpg/
combat is real time and very ability focused ,meaning the fancy attacks you use. That's as much detail as i can give simply because the combat engine is still in the works. Rest assured we're not going to release anything half assed, and anyone involved in the Beta testing will have their feedback taken on board whole heartedly.
Whats the strategy to beating the Boss in The Engineer? I've been trying for an hour
Nevermind just beat it. Lol'd at the ending
Coming up on $4,000 already? It's good to see so many people willing to help out. I hope the pledges keep coming in at this rate
so do i :) yeah it's been doing pretty well, we still need to keep the word spreading so it doesn't slow down though
Sweet, I'm acually working on a game too. I'm still thinking on wether you will create your own character, or play as one basic character at the beginning, and unlock more as you progress through the game.
Also, Will there be medals in this flash? Just asking.
-Sonic-
there will be a LOT of medals
Hope you enjoy some of the maps I made in The Engineer! It's very addictive, and if you ever do a sequel, you can never have enough props in that map editor :D

There needs to be an option to remove your underwear like in Daggerfall.
