What's hilarious is some of the fanboy groups are totally pulling a Fallout 3 on this game by petitioning that the game does not "live up to it's predecessors" before they even get a chance to play it. Biggest argument so far by these petitioners: "IT HAS TOO MUCH COLOUR"

Diablo 2 is probably one of my favorite games ever. I spent hundreds of hours playing it through up to hell mode with where my friends got gay and stopped playing and I too inevitably fell off. I was a huge necromancer fan (paladin's got really fucking cheap) Necromancers got owned in hell mode without steroids. My first glimpse of D3 disappointed me in a major way. I expected something that would make me shit my self and would revolutionize the RPG experience like the previous Diablo games and the WoW did. Once i sat and watched the 20 minute movie on the blizard site I realized that they didn't revolutionize shit but polished and buffed the standard Diablo framework to give us a new more potent crack.
That being said, I am really excited about this game. I've been waiting for this game since my friends fell off. This is actually one of my big 3 games that they need to continue: Diablo, Dungeon Keeper and Populous. I'm anxious to see how they implement the new paladin though. I could hardly give a fuck about their precious Barbarian. The replacement Necromancer looks alright, I just don't like the idea of having to rely on poison or disease because I know the higher up levels will bone you with immunities.
I gotta get back to work, but yeah, I'm excited!
yeah i know what u mean. i personally love character customization like looks and stuff, and i would have liked it to be more MMO based personally. still it is oldschool diablo style which rocks in and of itself.
still, i've always loved the barb most so i like him still :)

I've never played Diablo 1 or 2, mostly beacause I saw it like 2 or 3 times in stock back when it was just released in my town :O
However I'm huge Blizzard fan(Warcraft mostly, I mean like, all parts including WoW)
And I'm very hungry for some professionaly-made classical-style RPG

Blizzard is sure getting a kick out of reviving franchises to an age of gamers who didn't even know that warcraft was an rts. They've sold out and it pisses me off to be the only person I know who played the first warcraft!
hey man, oooldschool warcraft rocks solid. And they never sold out in my opinion. they have ALWAYS polished their games to the extreme, theyre just moving with the times. in fact, more LEADING the movement.
:D I was like "this is a joke right?" when my friend send me a link (blizzard.com/diablo3) to the diablo 3 site...he was like "No it's for real!" and I was like "ZOMG! CAN'T WAIT!" it's kinda like getting an early birthday present...I hope there will be more videos...

im more of a starcraft fan, most likelly cuz i never had the chance to try any of the diablo games =) but i bet they are good ill make sure i get the 3rd opus whenever it comes out (after starcraft 2!!!)
and BoB comunity is irritating me =( the quit before the first turns start or in the middle of the game cuz they are in a bit of disadvantage =( also people who abuse and get easy points and got like 1000 points and suck at the game =( GASP!

I read an interview with one of the devs and he said that he and some of the others on the team wanted to pull the FAQ because it says that there will be 5 classes because the final number of classes is not yet set.
But I do not think that we will see the Necro return because the witch doctor looks like it is a necromancer in "the sprite"
I bet that the Paladin will make a comeback tho.
yeah paladin will return or some kind of knight. they'll need to bring the assassin too she was kewl. necro was mad tho. i mean, if anything i reakon the witch doctor is a sorcerer raplacement? or druid maybe?

I can believe it. It is a great way to test out games. Get feedback from the fans.
But I based my statement on Blizzard's past.
They are so secretive, that they never hire a single staff member they don't need. That's one less person they have to worry about leaking details.
Then they always have alphas and betas, after the announcent, in which people who went to conventions or something get to play and give feedback.
In my history as a Blizzard fan, I don't think they hire people for testing. But I trust that there are companies that do it.
