Very well done, in particular I can see you paid clear attention to where the light would be hitting. Cell shading can be a tricky thing to get right since it's much more 'precise' really, you have to pick and chose what is highlighted and what is not, and have a clear cutoff. You've done so in a way that clearly enhances where the fire is and helps frame the picture better. I recommend adding some rim/edge lighting to the character, perhaps red in tone, since he is standing in front of a blazing fire after all! Good work, thanks for sharing!

hmmm...i see what you mean about the red tone.I'll try what you suggest there on the next one since it will be a blacksmith. Thanks again for the kind review. :D

Hey there! Doing well for a first digital painting, your colors flow well together and its a neat and simple picture. I recommend working on your form and figure work, to get it to look overall more tanjible and real. Even cartoons can have a real quality to them, a solidity to make them more relatable. That, and your edges. They're a little too soft in this. Otherwise, a great first attempt, good luck with your second!

Thanks for sharing your pics with me, they're very well done! I chose to review this one because I really like the aesthetic flow. The colors mix well, it has a very painterly feel about it and it actually took me a moment to realize it's a pokemon pic, so cleverly disguised my friend. Great use of thin linework, it looks both sketchy, yet limited in its use and refined overall. Keep it up!

I had to do a bit of a double take to try and make sense of what I was seeing lol, bit of a whacky picture but its nicely done. Your art style is unique and cool, particularly the way you draw the characters faces and expressions. I'd recommend trying to keep the picture from being confusing, it's hard to tell what shapes are a part of what figure when everything shares the same line density and there are things overlapping and what not. Thanks for sharing, keep it up!

Looking good, I can see you're practicing your lifelike shading and drawing and doing well. Keep it up, its visible that you're a beginner but there's never anything wrong with that, and practice makes perfect! Keep it up :)

Very cool! The image is simple but perfect for what you're going for, their expressions are priceless, and your linework and coloring/shading in particular are very well executed. Thanks for sharing, keep it up!

thank you man! your awesome! :D

For your first digital piece you should be proud! The image is good, there are some things holding it back though, the most noticeable thing being how 'busy' the image is. If you're starting off and learning I'd recommend taking it slow, working on character art or environments separate to each other, and when you progress to a point you're happy with, keep challenging yourself and combine them in adventurous ways. Overall a good attempt though, keep it up and thanks for sharing

You've done well, her proportions and face look great, the linework feels a bit unrefined and could do with more solidarity, her hand could use some work too, but overall you've done well! Keep it up, thanks for sharing

TyrannosaurusKing responds:

Thank you very much Jazza. Keep up the good work. By the way how does someone get scouted?

Nice work, you're not afraid to get your dark tones working which looks great. The linework can come across a bit too unrefined at times, and the face in the top/middle feels a bit off, but overall you captured a strong aesthetic and have done well, keep it up!

SchermerhornArts responds:

Thank you ^^!
