As some might be aware from my other posts, I'm producing an extremely large and ambitious flash game titled "Ortus" with a team of 13-15 people.
Unfortunately our previous Special Effects animator is no longer able to be a part of the team, so I'm extending an open invitation to anyone with the skills. The job is paid and the game itself is extremely ambitious, and will be a worthy use of your time. the game itself is an isometric RPG, similar in ways, to games like Baldur's Gate and Diablo.
Following are details to the position, and the role it plays
SPECIAL EFFECTS ANIMATOR:
- animated special effects for in game mechanics (spells, blasts, gore, etc)
- icon design for spells and ability icons
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- skilled in visually creating and animating elemental imagery (fire, ice, blood, etc)
- adept in recent versions of flash (CS3 to CS5)
- hard working, and timely creation of needed game aspects
- regularly available, and enthusiastic!
If you are interested in being an important part of what may very well be one of the biggest flash games of this year, produced by Armorgames and Jazzastudios, do the following:

- links to (or attached) what you feel are the best representations of your abilities in flash, particularly in the realm of special effects
- a little about yourself, why you feel you are the one for the job, and if possible, any previous experience you may have had in the online flash/game industry
If you're unsure weather or not to apply, just apply, I need to see as many possibilities as I can, I'm most interested in someone with the skills and enthusiasm to get the job done on time, and a good team player.

You should hire some pro stick animator, as I-smel suggested, they are pretty good at effects

I forgot to ask you some questions:
1.What exactly do you want to know about the person?...Name?...Age?...Country?... is that all ?
2.How exactly similar with Baldur's Gate and Diablo?.... You mean 3D look ? or The game engine ?
3.What exactly the kind of exprience about the online flash/game industry ?
1 - thats not relevant, we don't care about age or gender, as long as they've got the time and experience
2 - similar to both, it has similar in game dialogue mechanisms to baldur's gate, and a combat system similar to both, but with a lot of it's own flavor.
2 - experience IN the industry isn't as important as experience in the program and skills we need

Btw how big of a job is required for fx animator? Like approximately many effects sprites will be needed for this commision because I'm pretty interested in applying but I'm really short on time
i can't say for sure but it's not the biggest job on the team, it is an important one. the icon creation isn't the main part and can be done away from the SFX animator, we just need someone who can make elemtal and spell effects look good.
I recommend you send me an email application, you seem quite well versed in this stuff, let me know how available you think you'll be

Well then try getting in touch with Adam Phillips, he's the best with water (frikking did water for disney), and that would help out with other liquid effects (like the blood) in fact, look at this for how well he did blood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X2TGi NShBQ. He has some great fire effects demonstrated on his site. And i don't doubt he can do any other elements.

Unfortunately, the best animators on this site all have projects of their own.
It's already hard enough to animate as a high school student alone.

Look around for some After Effects masters (unless you want the effects made in flash)

Haha. He's the previous SFX guy who had to leave the project unfortunately. We both wanted him on the project but sometimes stuff happens :(
